PHOTOGRAPHING AT HOME
SARASOTA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER
NOW HELPING FAMILIES WITH THEIR FIRST PORTRAITS OF THEIR BABIES
while staying home during COVID19
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world.
As they say… necessity is the mother of invention. My heart has been more and more broken with each phone call and email from a new parent who had to postpone a session and add the name to my waiting list to schedule portraits of their baby when my studio reopens.
Newborn portraits are time-sensitive as they are usually done in the first month (or even two) of baby's life. You can't simply recreate that baby stage at a later time and with the current situation it is still unknown when non essential businesses will be able reopen and when it will be safe to perform portrait sessions again.
What if I tell you that it could be possible to create your newborn portraits at home? I can't promise this will be an easy task and it will require some work from you, but I think it can be done and together we can create beautiful portraits of your baby.
I'm inviting you to create newborn portraits on your own with the help of my complimentary Guide. Just sign for my newsletter by filling the form and you will receive a complimentary pdf that will inspire you, and provide you with plenty of tips on photographing your baby. I surely hope it will help some new parents out.
But there is more… and completely optional for those of you that might want an extra help. Scroll down to learn about additional services that I added along with this Guide.
Now you can:
hire me as your virtual assistant,
rent props from my studio(*)
and even have the portraits we you create at the live session professionally retouched
help our community as portion of each virtual session will be donated to Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee
I can't wait to see all the portraits of your baby that you take!
I know first hand how intimidating and challenging some newborn sessions can be and working with babies is not as easy as most people think.
True story - I was already an experienced newborn photographer when my daughter, Sophie, was born. I was very excited to create portraits on my own and pre-planned all the setups ahead of time. Little did I know that after c-section photographing will be much more difficult and my own child will be wide awake and crying every time I tried to pose her. What would normally take me 2-3 hours, it was a 3 week of attempts and tries. And if she was my very first model, I highly suspect that I would stay away from newborn photography for the rest of my life. Each baby is unique and therefore each session is different. I surely hope your baby will be more cooperative and I can't wait to hear all success stories after applying information from this guide!
However, if you need extra help or resources, I have a few options for you below!
Virtual Assistance
That's right! What if I tell you that I could be by your side when you are photographing your baby? Imagine getting all the guidelines starting from your camera set up, to positioning your baby and providing you live instructions to take a portrait. It's basically a mini-workshop one-on-one with an experienced newborn photographer, Sylwia Ok.
There is 2 step process to make this work:
phone consultations a few days before the portraits (to cover your equipment, light in your home, etc)
live coaching (over FaceTime) to direct you on the day of your portraits.
Live Virtual Assistance starting from $190 [up to 2 hours, each extra hour $90]
$50 from each virtual session will be donated to Meals On Wheels Manatee
Prop Rental
My studio has a variety of blankets, wraps, props and maternity gown that can be rented for your portraits at home. Delivery and pick up included within 10 miles from the studio. Each item will be washed and disinfected prior to your delivery and washed and disinfected after your use. Starting from: $50 for a set blanket/wrap/hat/headband, $20 for a bowl or basket with fur filler
Professional Retouching
After selecting your favorite portraits from your own session, you might find that some of them are worth being printed but they lack that extra artistic touch. With my retouching skills, I can enhance your images to its full beauty.
Full artistic retouching consists of color correction, adjustment of brightness, sharpening, removing imperfections, skin airbrushing and color grading. Starting from: $250 for a set of 5
Digital backgrounds could enhance your portrait even further. With Photoshop magic it is basically possible to recreate most of the sets I did during my newborn sessions and I can make some suggestions after reviewing and editing your images.
